Glacier National Park

Experience Glacier’s pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and spectacular lakes.

Glacier Park is perfect for visitors seeking wilderness and wide-open spaces.

THERE’S PLENTY TO EXPLORE!

As of mid-July, the Going-to-the-Sun Road is open to motorized vehicles from the west entrance of Glacier Park to Logan Pass and as far as Rising Sun. Due to the Blackfeet Tribe’s resolution restricting non-essential travel on the reservation, the east entrance at St. Mary remains closed as does Many Glacier, and Two Medicine. Much of the west side of Glacier is open to exploring. Avalanche Lake makes for a nice, moderate day hike. Lake McDonald is open to non-motorized boating. Areas of the North Fork are also open via Camas Road. Kintla and Bowman Lakes can both be accessed through the Polebridge Ranger Station. Road access and park services are changing by the day. For up-to-date status, reports CLICK HERE

The City of Whitefish and the State of Montana have recently passed an ordinance requiring the use of face coverings through August 15, 2020. Whitefish City Council and/or the State of Montana may extend this emergency ordinance for one or more additional terms.

According to the ordinance, a face covering must be worn by all individuals when in a place of business or waiting in line to enter a place of business, when outdoors at an organized event with 20 or greater guests, when outdoors if physical distancing cannot be maintained, and when driving or riding on public transportation, shuttle, or paid ride service.

Exceptions are permitted for children over the age of 5 years, for individuals with health conditions, for individuals who are eating or drinking, actively exercising or swimming, or when it is not practical, such as during a haircut or facial.

We continue to monitor the evolving situation and recommendations of the CDC and the State of Montana. We encourage you to stay informed by referencing reputable sources:

I liked everything. We walked all around town. Found it very relaxing. Especially found the young lady at the desk very friendly and helpful.

Room was huge. Beds extra comfortable (we just spent 27 hours on a train so maybe that’s why it felt so good.) Close to train station.

The beds are wonderful and so is the access to Wi-Fi. Staff is great and so is their morning coffee available in the lobby. A plus is that there is an on-site washer and dryer to use.
